BioteQ re-starts operations at biosulphide plant in Brisbee Arizona

10 June 2010

The joint venture operation with Freeport-McMo Ran Copper & Gold Inc (Freeport) shares the copper revenues and plant operating costs between the two companies.

Following a scheduled furlough, the biosulphide plant has ramped up to full capacity, and is recovering dissolved copper generated by recirculating water through a low-grade stockpile at the site. The plant has returned to its previous production levels.

Brad Marchant, BioteQ’s chief executive officer said: “We are pleased that this important asset is again generating recurring revenue and contributing positive cash flow. Our goal with the furlough was to re-structure operations to reduce costs while continuing to meet our high safety and environmental standards. We believe this goal
has been achieved, with the support of our joint venture partner, Freeport.”
