BioteQ resumes water treatment operations at Arizona JV

11 July 2011

BioteQ Environmental Technologies Inc has resumed water treatment operations at its joint venture plant in Bisbee, Arizona.

Bioreactor activity has been restored and water treatment has resumed. BioteQ expects treatment to gradually ramp up over the next four to six weeks.

The Bisbee plant treats water from a low-grade stockpile containing dissolved copper and recovers copper as part of the treatment process. The plant is expected to recover approximately 325 000 pounds of copper this year.

BioteQ and its joint venture partner, Freeport-McMoRan Corporation, share equally in the treatment process and associated costs.
