ITT Water & Wastewater wins aeration contract for sewage treatment works

05 August 2011

Black & Veatch has selected ITT Water & Watewater to provide the aeration element for the extension of Thames Water’s Mogden Sewage Treatment Works in the UK.

ITT Water & Wastewater will supply Sanitaire Gold Series Diffusers together with Flygt mixers and pumps.
The Sanitaire Gold Series Diffuser will be used in collaboration with a high speed centrifugal air blower system, which will result in lower energy consumption at the Mogden works during the running of the aeration, activated sludge plant.
The Mogden project involves the installation and commissioning of a new process stream at the treatment works, including primary settlement tanks, secondary biological treatment and final settlement tanks.
Mogden, in Twickenham, is one of the largest sewage treatment works in the UK, and serves around 1.9 million customers. The extension is part of a £675 million programme to upgrade London's five major sewage works.
