Applications for the new compact mixer, known as the Flygt 4650 LSPM mixer, include biological wastewater treatment, denitrification and sludge handling, as well as mud drilling, agriculture and related industries.

Depending on the angle of the propeller and other configurations, ITT Water and Wastewater claim that the mixer can provide about 10-20% lower energy consumption, 15% higher motor efficiency and 40% lower current consumption compared to standard compact mixers. The mixer has been extensively tested in Europe for efficiency and durability.
