The bill has allocated $10.3 billion for the EPA, an increase of $2.7 billion on 2009, slightly less than President Obama requested. $2 billion will be spent on a clean and safe drinking water infrastructure, $415 million on the restoration of the Great Lakes and $155 million on climate change.
The Clean Water State Revolving Fund will receive $2.1 billion and $1.38 billion will go towards the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. In addition, $157 million will go toward direct grants to communities for water infrastructure. The bill has $385 million for programs that address global climate change, $155 million above 2009.
This final bill must pass through the full House and Senate, then be signed by the president.
