The Through-Bore Hydrant allows easy access to pressurised water distribution mains enabling pipe inspection, maintenance or repair work to be undertaken without the need for excavation or extensive roadworks. Viking Johnson’s Through-Bore Hydrant also allows water companies to maintain continual water supply to customers during maintenance and repairs.
Winning second place in the SBWWI Water Dragons Innovation Award was another Crane Building Services & Utilities product, under the WASK brand. The Aquastop MKII delivers a fast and efficient under pressure line stop capability for water distribution mains. The Aquastop MKII from WASK saves time and money and the couble stop-off can be deployed within 30 mins of the main being exposed. As with the Through-Bore Hydrant, the Aquastop enables repair and maintenance work to be carries out without disrupting the customer’s water supply.
Viking Johnson and WASK have been working with Morrison Utility Services and Yorkshire Water in trials of the Through-Bore Hydrant and the Aquastop MKII, which have already proven successful in the field.
Jonathan Clegg, product engineering and quality director at Crane Building Services & Utilities said: “We are delighted that the ingenuity and hard work of our research and development teams has been recognised and thank Morrison Utility Services for their contribution. We will continue to support the water companies and contractors in their drive to improve all aspects of water and waste water service delivery.”
