SouthWest Water Company wins award for Laboratory Person of the Year

The Northern San Joaquin chapter of the California Water Environmental Association (CWEA) has presented Bonnie Dennedy with the 2009 Laboratory Person of the Year award

Dennedy is a Water Treatment Level 1 Operator at the Mountain House Community Services District wastewater treatment facility. Through a public-private partnership, SouthWest Water handles the District’s services from water and wastewater treatment to billing and collection services. Dennedy’s valuable contribution to the initial set-up of the District’s laboratory and its subsequent successes has earned her this recognition from the CWEA. Since opening, the laboratory has been certified by the Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Programme (ELAP) for providing quality control and quality assurance testing and documentation. Obtaining ELAP certification has dramatically reduced the laboratory’s costs.

DeLise Keim, vice president of Corporate Communications, SouthWest Water Company said: “Bonnie has done an exemplary job for our client. Her dedication and hard work make us very proud.”

The Laboratory Person of the Year award recognises outstanding professional achievements in the wastewater industry.
