Missouri American Water accepting applications for Environmental Grant Programme

11 February 2010

The programme supports innovative, community-based environmental projects which improve, restore or protect watersheds and community drinking water supplies

The Environmental Grant Programme offers grants of up to $10,000. To qualify, the proposed project must be located within Missouri American Water’s service area and be completed between 1 May 2010 and 1 November 2010. The project must be a new or innovative initiative for the community, or serve as a significant expansion to an existing program.

Projects will be judged based on criteria such as clarity of project goals and projected impact, nature and strength of collaboration with other community and/or municipal organizations and evidence that the project will provide sustainable environmental results after the Missouri American Water funding ends.

Frank Kartmann, president, Missouri American Water said: “Every individual and community has the ability to positively impact our source water and watersheds. We encourage communities, schools and non-governmental associations involved in such efforts to consider applying for a grant.”
