WERF’s Paul L Busch Award offers £100,000 for water quality research

31 March 2010

WERF (Water Environment Research Foundation) is offering the money through the Endowment for Innovation in Applied Water Quality Research

The Paul L Busch Award, granted by WERF, supports researchers working in wastewater, water reuse, biosolids, stormwater and watersheds to find solutions for water quality problems.

In 2009, Jaehong Kim, of Georgia Tech, received the Paul L Busch Award for his work on a technology which harnesses ultraviolet radiation in sunlight to enhance the performance of sunlight disinfection processes used throughout the developing world. He said: “This award gives researchers the freedom to explore new ideas that are riskier and therefore more exciting and hopefully more rewarding when successful.”

Individuals or teams interested in applying for the award must submit their application to WERF by 1 June 2010.
