Ultraviolet reactor for water treatment

25 March 2009

Degrémont Technologies-Ozonia has developed AQUARAY® H2O 36 inch, a new inline cross flow UV reactor which has a capacity up to 7 000 m3/h.

The Aquaray H2O 36 reactor uses 10 high density medium pressure lamps to offer compact footprint and easy integration on new or existent water treatment lines, the company says. It is effective against a wide range of bacteria, viruses and parasites such as Cryptosporidium Parvum or Giardia Lamblia.

The reactor also complies with the new required maximum bromate limits of 10 μg/l which were put in place at the end of 2008.

The AQUARAY H20 is currently being validated for the disinfection of drinking water and for the inactivation of Cryptosporidium and Giardia.
