Hydranautics contracted to supply Victorian Desalination Project with SWC6 MAX and ESPA2+ elements

25 May 2010

The contract was awarded by Theiss Degremont, the design and construction contractor for the Project currently being built on the Bass Coast near the town of Wonthaggi.

The Victorian Desalination Project is being delivered as a Public-Private Partnership. When operational, the plant will have a 440,000 m³/day capacity and supply an estimated 150 billion litres of water per year to Melbourne, Geelong, South Gippsland and Western Port towns.

Yukio Nagira, president of Nitto Denko, which owns Hyranautics, said: “The newest SWC6 Max element was selected for this project because it achieves both the greatest permeate and highest salt rejection in the industry.”
