AECOM awarded contract from FEMA

01 June 2010

The indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will support its Hazard Mitigation Technical Assistance Programme.

AECOM will provide technical services to support the programme's response capability for all types of pre- and post-disaster mitigation activities to events such as coastal flooding, tropical cyclones, typhoons, hurricanes, dam and levee failures, wildfires and severe storms or events. The contract includes a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The maximum contract value is $150 million.

John M Dionisio, AECOM president and chief executive officer said: “AECOM has a strong performance history with FEMA through our support on more than 700 task orders for the agency. We are excited to have the opportunity to continue this relationship through this important hazard-mitigation programme.”

The first two task orders awarded under the contract entail a flood study in Wisconsin and rapid response surveying of high-water marks in Tennessee.
